Beyond Work
62 Countries and Counting
Travel has been one of my greatest teachers. I've visited more than 62 countries, learning firsthand how culture, incentives, infrastructure, and economic systems shape the way people live, work, and build.
Importing Ethiopian Spices
Built and operated a small import business focused on bringing specialty Ethiopian products to new markets. It was an early lesson in supply chains, logistics, customer acquisition, and the realities of entrepreneurship.
Event Promotion
Before product management and payments, I organized and promoted events across multiple cities. The work involved marketing, partnerships, sponsorships, operations, sales, and bringing communities together.
Building Across Different Worlds
The common thread across travel, business, events, product, and payments has always been the same: understanding people, incentives, systems, and how ideas move from concept to reality.
Current Explorations
Cost-Based Commerce
Exploring whether businesses can create value by selling products at or near cost while monetizing through memberships, ecosystems, services, financing, or network effects.
Community Housing Finance
Researching alternatives to traditional mortgage structures, including community-funded housing models where members collectively finance home purchases through shared contribution pools.
Autonomous Ocean Logistics
Investigating low-cost, solar-powered autonomous marine systems capable of moving small cargo across long distances with minimal operating costs.
AI-Augmented Organizations
Exploring how AI agents, workflow automation, and decision systems can allow small teams to operate at the scale of much larger organizations.
Mobile Commerce Infrastructure
Building and studying ways to turn existing commerce platforms into branded mobile shopping experiences without rebuilding the underlying e-commerce stack.
Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies
Studying how technology, capital access, and operational systems can lower barriers to entrepreneurship and ownership in developing markets.
Alternative Logistics Networks
Exploring decentralized transportation systems, peer-to-peer capacity sharing, and marketplace-based movement of goods.
Self-Sustaining Businesses
Experimenting with systems, software, and automation that allow businesses to operate with minimal management overhead while maintaining customer value.
Operating Range
Commerce and financial services
Product and platform work across recurring commerce, payments, onboarding, risk, and regulated financial workflows.
Banking partners and hardware rollout
Partner-led payment programs involving terminals, acquiring relationships, localization, certification, UAT, and launch coordination.
Distributed execution
Cross-functional work with engineering, QA, operations, vendors, banking partners, and executive stakeholders across time zones.
Launch readiness and operational design
Market-entry support across risk, fraud, onboarding, product configuration, operating controls, and partner workflows.
